SWINDON Town boss Richie Wellens remains confident that goalkeepers Lawrence Vigouroux and Luke McCormick will be tied down to fresh contracts soon.

Both players’ contracts conclude this summer, and both stoppers are free to open talks with interested clubs should they wish to do so.

The 38-year-old Town boss told the Advertiser last month that chairman Lee Power was holding talks with both goalkeepers with regards to fresh contracts for the 2019/20 season.

Providing a fresh update, Wellens said no deal has yet been reached – but added the club is in no immediate rush to tie the pair down.

“As a club we feel very confident that we will get the deal done,” said Wellens.

“The conversations that we’ve had with Lawrence Vigouroux and Luke McCormick have been positive, we’ve got no need to worry that anything misleading is going on. We’re confident things will be sorted in the coming weeks and that we can move forward on other positions.”
