Ex-Swindon Town midfielder Jak McCourt has put pen to paper on a one-year deal at League Two side Macclesfield Town.

McCourt made 27 for appearances for Swindon last season, scoring once against his new club as Town ripped two more points away from Macclesfield in injury time.

Swindon announced the Liverpudlian was to be released in May and McCourt wasted little time in settling at a new club.

The 23-year-old becomes Sol Campbell's first summer signing after the former England international performed a minor miracle to keep the Silkmen in the Football League last season.

A statement, which announced the news on Macclesfield's official website, read:

"Jak's all-round play is characterised by a superb range of passing and a will to win which is much sought-after at every level of the game.

"We would like to welcome Jak to the Moss Rose and wish him every success during his time at Macclesfield Town."
