GOALKEEPER Shamal George is on the verge of joining Swindon Town from European Champions Liverpool, according to reports.
The Daily Mail last night reported the 21-year-old is close to leaving Merseyside to link up with Richie Wellens’ squad ahead of the club’s 2019-20 League Two campaign.
It is reported in the article that George will be allowed to join Town for free with a sell on clause included in the deal.
George has made just one appearance for Liverpool – in a pre-season friendly against Huddersfield – since joining the Anfield outfit in 2009 as a youth player.
He also completed loan stints at Carlisle and Tranmere.
