BOXING trainer Paddy Fitzpatrick saw three of his youth prospects take to the ring in an outdoor show in Staines last weekend.

John Issacs, Jake Price and Samuel Stringer fought under the guidance of Fitzpatrick and achieved mixed results in the capital.

Issacs was the only fighter under Fitzpatrick’s tutelage to achieve a victory in the outdoor show, controlling his bout against hometown boy Lewis Keen to take a unanimous decision success.

Issacs controlled the distance throughout, scoring with three-punch combinations and showing excellent ring presence.

Jake Price started slowly in his bout against Ronnie Dawson, but did eventually let his hands go and get into a rhythm.

Unfortunately for the Fitzpatrick-trained youngster, the decision went to Dawson.

Meanwhile, Samuel Stringer returned to the ring after a lengthy absence and went toe-to-toe with Jimmy Giltinane.

Fitzpatrick praised Stringer’s counter-jab and scoring against his taller opponent in the second round, of the bout.

However, Stringer fell to a close majority decision.
