Graham Potter had no complaints about seeing an Albion goal being ruled out after consultation with the video ref.
But that did not ease the disappointment of having what seemed a first-half lead snatched away.
Leandro Trossard volleyed home in the first half but, with the teams ready to restart, the goal was ruled out on review.
Video ref Darren Bond spotted Dan Burn, specifically his left leg, was offside before he pulled the ball back for Trossard.
Potter said: “They are there for the clear and obvious ones. Is it offside or not offside?
“Whether it’s a millimetre or a centimetre or 10cm, it’s offside by the laws of the game. I have no real complaints.
“But it’s not very pleasant. It changes the atmosphere in the stadium a little bit.
“It goes from euphoria to almost disappointment but that is something we all have to deal with.
“I thought the players did it really well.”
Asked about the delay before the goal was ruled out, Potter said: “In an ideal world you want these things to happen quicker but, at the same time, you want them to be correct as well.
“I’m not going to be too critical. I think they have to make these decisions when they can.
“Time stands still on the side, anyway, for me so it is what it is.”
