Swindon Advertiser:

ONE TO WATCH: Luke Varney

HE has certainly done the Football League rounds, and he has grabbed a fair share of goals in that time too.

Luke Varney is the obvious choice of player to keep an eye on as Swindon Town go in search of their first-ever away victory at Cheltenham Town.

What is in Swindon’s favour is Varney’s form.

He has netted just once this term – that goal came in the Robins’ win over Carlisle United on Tuesday.

It’s possible Cheltenham will sit back and attempt to grind out a point – but you can bet Varney will be lurking in and around the penalty area when an opportunity comes.

KEY BATTLE: Lloyd Isgrove v Sean Long

PRESUMING he’s passed fit to play, Lloyd Isgrove will again prove a key man for Swindon Town as Richie Wellens’ side search for their first League Two win in a fortnight.

Isgrove has troubled the majority of his markers so far this season – his quick movement and pace on the ball has certainly added a fresh dimension to Town’s attacking threat.

The 26-year-old’s energy is a big benefit to the squad, but he will have to overcome another fitness test if he is to start at Cheltenham Town.

The relatively inexperienced Sean Long has a tricky task on his plate should he find himself in front of Isgrove.
