TEENAGE Swindon race ace Elliot Pinson claimed two wins and a second during round six of the Dickies British Junior Supersport series at Cheshire’s Oulton Park circuit last weekend.

Once again stamping his authority on both grid and podium with the SymCirrus Motorsport Ninja 400, Pinson barely wavered in his charge for the series title.

He qualified on pole with a lap time of 1 min 53.456secs, and in race one, got the better of an early tussle to cross the line in first, setting a lap record in the process.

Race two saw the 16-year-old lead throughout for another victory, before Pinson was forced to yield the top step of the podium to Adon Davie in race three.

Pinson took 70 points from Oulton Park to move second on the leaderboard with 203 points overall.

With two rounds remaining, Kade Verwey leads the series with 216 points and Trystan Finocchiaro lies third with 164 points.

Pinson said: “In race one, I got stuck at the start and swallowed up by the pack.

“I fought to the front then ran at my own pace to the end. I knew the lap-times were quick but I was surprised to find I’d broken the lap record.

“In race two, I led from flag to flag, maintaining my own rhythm and my own pace.

“Race three was different. Adon Davie was on pole and it was him and me racing each other at the front for most of the race. I would overtake him, then he’d draft me back as he is 20kg lighter.

“I’m excited and confident about the last two rounds. If I keep doing what I’m doing, then chances are I can get the series lead. I’m hoping to close it down early.

“I think we’re doing well because the teamwork and the set-up have really come together, and I feel great on the bike.

“Thanks to SymCirrus for giving me an awesome bike and sorting out any problems. Thanks also to Factory Agencies, Cool Milk, Forma Boots, Doing It For Dan, Macna Leathers, Nexx Helmets and EBC Brakes for their support.”
