WRAG Barn Ladies have topped the standings in Wiltshire County Scratch League Division A following the final match of the season last week.

Wrag Barn travelled to take on Chippenham Ladies in the season finale, with their efforts in that match yielding enough points for them to triumph int the five-team division.

League matches are played all summer both home and away, with each side contesting 10 fixtures in a round-robin format.

Wrag Barn team captain Sarah North said: “I would like to thank the whole squad: Gill Loughrey, Katie Walls, Ashleigh Thorne, Roxanne Roberts, Jo Patel, Sheila McNeil, Maxine Bowden, Molly Barby and Alison Talbert for their dedication, excellent play and team spirit.

“All are great ambassadors for Wrag Barn on and off the course. It has been a pleasure to play alongside them and to be their captain this season.

“Many thanks also to our supporters who’ve given so much encouragement along the way.”

Club owner Verity Manners added: “I was thrilled to see the team commitment and camaraderie evolve in the squad which united them in a tide of goodwill and a positive mindset which came through in the results.”

Wednesday is ladies’ morning at Wrag Barn and there are allocated tee times and competitions at the weekend.
