LITTLE over a year after publishing his first podcast, Loathed Strangers host Rich Pullen perhaps never anticipated he would be presenting his own question and answer session with Swindon Town manager Richie Wellens.

But exactly that will happen on Tuesday, November 12, at the County Ground as Pullen puts Wellens, his assistant Noel Hunt, goalkeeping coach Steve Mildenhall and several players through their paces in the Legends Lounge.

The evening will be a little different to the Town fan’s usual kitchen surroundings when he hits the record button.

But Pullen, who to date has published 99 episodes, admits being in the company of Town’s opinionated 39-year-old boss will make his role that bit easier.

He said: “It will be different, and I’m a bit nervous.

“But I’ve had Richie (Wellens) on the podcast before and he was brilliant.

“I’ve been surprised how willing many ex-players are. I’ve not just talked to players that had a great experience at Swindon.

“Some players on the pod haven’t had a great time, and that brings the balance – it’s not a propaganda podcast.

“I’d like to think it’s open minded and celebrates all the bits that need to be celebrated.

"Hannah and Pete have been amazing in organising the event and I know Supporters' Club members have worked hard to promote the evening during matchdays."

Town fan Pullen, who has been attending games since he was first introduced to the club by his father in 1990, took inspiration from previous podcast ‘The Washbag’ when launching The Loathed Strangers.

Since publishing his first episode at the beginning of Town’s 2018-19 campaign, Pullen has welcomed club legends Colin Calderwood, Paul Bodin and Fraser Digby onto his show among others.

Eight months of planning before the podcast’s launch has certainly paid off, with the total listener figure closing in 100,000.

Pullen added: “I never in my wildest dreams expected it to grow as it has. It does okay, and there was definitely a market for it before launch.

“Swindon is a well followed club with fans all over the world, and I think it’s only fair for them to have a bit more than the radio or iFollow.”

Entry to the evening costs £5 with tickets only available in advance from www.stfc-osc.com.

Doors open at 7pm with all Swindon Supporters’ Club members receiving a free drinks token on arrival. Vic Morgan will also host a quiz after the Q&A.
