Adver Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players after their 1-0 defeat at home to Cheltenham Town in the FA Cup.

Steven Benda: 6.5

Came for a few crosses really well and was always keen to start counter-attacks when possible. Absolutely nothing he could have done about the goal.

Rob Hunt: 6

If Hunt could finish, Swindon might be in the second round. Not that they should be reliant on him of course. Should have been tighter for the goal as Addai is really quick, but it’s hard to pick holes in an otherwise solid performance.

Mathieu Baudry: 6

Solid if unspectacular from Baudry. Was beaten way too easily on a couple of occasions and snatched at a couple of half-chances in the Cheltenham box.

Zeki Fryers: 5.5

Passing was often wayward in the first half and did not look his confident self with the ball at his feet.

Ellis Iandolo: 5.5

Another defender who looked a little nervous at the back. Was substituted for Reid late on as Swindon tried to grab a late equaliser. Subbed.

Danny Rose: 5.5

Hardly got on the ball in his time on the pitch, and when he did, the passes were hardly defence splitting. Swindon seemed to go a little more direct, thus often taking Rose out of the game. Subbed.

Jordan Lyden: 6.5

Was one of a few Swindon players who looked energetic and desperate to make something happen. Tackling was superb, but was let down by a lack of support.

Michael Doughty: 4

After enjoying a decent run of games where he played somewhere near his best again, this is not a game Doughty will remember fondly. Missed penalty, poor passing, guilt-edged chance against the post. Poor night.

Kaiyne Woolery: 4

Back to his old ways of no end product. The most frustrating aspect was a lack of desire to win the ball back after it was lost.

Diallang Jaiyesimi: 7

Looked really lively throughout and was nearly always Swindon’s biggest threat. Not good at tackling though and should refrain from doing so if possible. Booked & subbed.

Jerry Yates: 6

Had a half-chance header which clipped the post and played a chance-creating pass into Hunt in the first half. Otherwise, chances did not fall to him and was less effective without wingman Doyle.

SUBSTITUTES:

Tyler Reid: 5

Put in a couple of dangerous balls during his short time on the pitch. Will now go out on loan to Wrexham until January.

Sidy Sanokho: 5

Offered very little and looked a little out of place in among the hectic search for a goal. One can only hope he improves with game time.

Scott Twine: 5

Cannot remember him doing a single thing. I’m reliably informed he did touch the ball, but it was not a vital touch.
