WRAG Barn Golf Club members and friends made their way onto the golf course last month for a Glow Golf event.

Under fairway lights, playing with illuminated golf balls and glowing greens, teams of three took part in a Texas Scramble competition with a shotgun start.

This is the second year the night-time golfing competition has supported Swindon 105.5, whose director, Jane Henderson, was on hand to present prizes back in the clubhouse.

Henderson said: “This was a great idea and fun to watch people coming in glowing, literally, from their challenge. Huge thanks to all involved.”

Wrag Barn co-owner Tim Manners added: “We were delighted that so many people supported this golf challenge. A slightly bonkers idea but it really worked and a lot of fun was also to be had.

“We are very pleased to support the Radio Station and its service to our community, with this event raising £700.

“Special thanks to Mark Keenan, from Divorce Online, who sponsored and ran the event, Dodo pubs for the delicious burgers, Wrag Barn men’s committee for laying out the course and to everyone who took part including WAGS and parents of the juniors.”

A cheque for £700 was present to Swindon 105.5 station manager Shirley Ludford live on air following the event.
