ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players after their 2-1 victory over Hull City at the County Ground.

Matej Kovar – 6

Although the goal was not his fault and he did make a handful of quite simple saves, Kovar still looked so nervous and did not command his area well at all.

Paul Caddis – 8

A brilliant all-round performance from the full-back on his return, capped off with a very well-taken goal. Town needed someone to step up, and Caddis was that man.

Akin Odimayo – 8

Barely put a foot wrong throughout, the young defender continued to impress with another dominant performance. His composure on the ball is growing too, which is a big plus.

Jonathan Grounds – 7

A pretty solid game from Grounds – he barked orders constantly and was brave and aggressive at the right times.

Dion Donohue – 7

The left-back produced a calm and steady showing. His game was much like his second stint at Swindon – got better as time went on.

Matt Smith – 7

Although his passing was questionable at times in the strong winds at the County Ground, Smith evidently has the character to put mistakes behind him and continued to be influential in attacks.

Anthony Grant – 7

Grant seems to be more restrained these days – not a bad thing as his energy was right up there until the end. Game will be remembered for providing a super block when Hull were in late on.

Jonny Smith – 7

Although his first half an hour left a lot to be desired, the youngster’s energy and endeavour was never in doubt. He grew into the game as time went on and enjoyed a dominant spell just before half time.

Jack Payne – 6

Not a bad game for Payne, per se, it was just that the attacker was barely involved for the most part, it seemed. Subbed.

Joel Grant – 7

His attacking play was exciting and often held threat, though his defensive game needs a lot of work. Took his goal brilliantly, however, which is of course what he’s in the team to do. Subbed.

Hallam Hope – 7

Hope put in a hell of a shift up front and looked shattered by the end. His hold-up play was hit and miss, but when he got it right, Town were able to do good things. Excellent touch for the assist to Grant’s goal too.
