SWINDON Town missed out on the signature of experienced goalkeeper, Joe Day after League One rivals Bristol Rovers captured the Cardiff City man on Monday evening.
The 30-year-old, who spent time on loan at AFC Wimbledon last season, was thought to be leaning towards a move to the County Ground over the weekend before making his decision to join Paul Tisdale's men on loan for the rest of the season.
The Brighton-born stopper sees his contract in South Wales run out at the end of this term, and after having not played at all this season, Day was keen to move on from the Cardiff City stadium this month.
The blow for Town comes days after manager John Sheridan announced he would be deciding on the futures of Manchester United loanee, Matej Kovar and Joe Fryer – who is at Swindon on a short-term deal – last weekend.
