ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club's 2-2 draw with Charlton Athletic.

Mark Travers: 7

Travers only had to make one reaching save, while his positioning took care of most other Charlton opportunities. Badly let down by those in front of him for both goals.

Kieron Freeman: 6

The right-back looked short of match sharpness, but it was obvious to see he has many good qualities once the fitness comes to fruition. Freeman was at fault for Charlton’s first before being taken off 15 minutes later. Subbed.

Dion Conroy: 7

Conroy prevented a certain goal in the first half and did his best to keep Aneke quiet throughout. The Town captain was perhaps caught ball-watching for the equaliser, but it was a heck of a touch, turn and finish by Shinnie.

Conor Masterson: 7

After a mistake almost gave Charlton an early lead, Masterson showed plenty of promise and moments of quality. He is a little rough around the edges, but I'm sure he’ll learn quickly. Looks to be a good acquisition at the back.

Dominic Thompson: 6

Thompson seemed content to stand off either Williams or Morgan when they were crossing and often wanted to over-complicate nearly everything he did. An outstanding block in the second half aside, today was an example of the inconsistency a young player can show. Booked.

Joel Grant: 5

Grant seemed short of match sharpness, in my opinion, and often made poor passes or wrong decisions. The energy and endeavour was there, but the quality was missing. Subbed.

Matt Palmer: 7

Palmer was impressive in the centre and did his best to stop Forster-Caskey from playing his game. Scored an excellent goal and his passing was crisp on a difficult pitch.

Jordan Lyden: 7

Lyden and Palmer formed an efficient duo in the first half but suffered in the second when Charlton switched to a diamond. Lyden continued to get around the pitch until late on, where he tired slightly, but he can be proud of his day’s work.

Hallam Hope: 7

Most good things that happened for Swindon in the first half came through Hope, including his goal. His pressing was excellent, and was always a helpful out ball, even if he sometimes prefers to look at the man instead of jumping for a header. Subbed.

Scott Twine: 6

Twine suffered a contact injury early on and never appeared to properly shake it off. He was pushed around a little and wasn’t able to find the pockets of space where he can hurt teams as often. Subbed. Booked.

Diallang Jaiyesimi: 7

Jaiyesimi was always a threat in the first half and capped his first 45 with some good hold-up play and the assist for Palmer’s goal. Isolated in the second, he could have made the game safe twice late on, but wasted the chances. Booked.

SUBSTITUTES

Jack Payne: 6

Made a few key interceptions and showed good energy, but was not as effective as he can be when stuck out on the left wing.

Matt Smith: 6

Added obvious quality when he came on and almost provided the game-winning moment for Jaiyesimi. His pressing wasn’t as tight as it could have been, however.

Akin Odimayo: 6

Solid from the stand-in right-back. Odimayo did not have much to do, but he did what he had to well.

Brett Pitman: N/A

Striker came on with less than 10 minutes to play.
