THE respective futures of Tyler Smith and Jonny Smith will be decided “by the end of the week”, according to Swindon Town manager John Sheridan.

Both attackers have fallen out of favour under Sheridan and have barely been involved over the last month or so.

Jonny Smith played half an hour in the recent 2-1 defeat at home to Doncaster Rovers while Tyler has not featured at all since starting the 4-1 defeat at home to MK Dons in late December.

Despite assistant Tommy Wright stating the club was happy to keep both players and try to juggle their opportunities moving forward, Sheridan appeared to contradict his second in command by suggesting both would be sent back to their parent clubs prior to Town’s game away at Hull City on Saturday.

Sheridan said: “I don’t like not involving loan players if I feel as though they need to go out and play somewhere else, or go back to their respective clubs to play first-team football.

“I don’t like leaving people out of the squad in they’re in on loan.

“They weren’t involved against Plymouth, so we’ll speak to their respective clubs and we’ll assess things while the window is still open.

“Everything will be sorted out by the end of the week.”
