ADVER Sport assess the Swindon Town players following their 2-2 draw away at Lincoln City in League One.

JoJo Wollacott: 7

Aside from one flap at a cross, Wollacott pulled off handful of good stops – one of which was excellent. He might have felt he should have done better with the second goal, but those in front of him did not do their part. A horrible night to be a goalkeeper, but the Town man looked more than solid.

Akin Odimayo: 7

As usual, Town’s utility defender looked comfortable at both right-back and centre-back. In the first half, Lincoln got very little joy down the left, and that was in part thanks to Odimayo. Booked.

Dion Conroy: 5

Town’s captain had a luckless night as he gave away a penalty before being forced off at half-time through injury. Subbed.

Tom Broadbent: 7

Broadbent’s mantra when defending consists of see ball, deal with ball. It’s simple but effective, and that meant Lincoln’s Tom Hopper barely had a sniff all day.

Jonathan Grounds: 7

I’m not a huge fan of Grounds at left-back, but he was never put in a position where his pace was tested, and his experience appeared to pay dividends when helping Thompson at left midfield. Nothing to complain about really from Grounds.

Matt Palmer: 6

I felt the game passed Palmer by at times and he was nowhere near as effective as Twine or Payne in midfield. His delivery from set pieces was very good though. Booked.

Jack Payne: 8

Despite Payne denying he was out to prove a point to anyone at Lincoln in his post-match interview, the 25-year-old certainly appeared to have the bit between his teeth throughout. Payne was everywhere and would have easily taken the man of the match award had he scored.

Scott Twine: 8

Although he didn’t play a part in either of the goals, Twine was brilliant in an attacking sense. He regularly tested Palmer with shots and dovetailed wonderfully with Payne. Sheridan must keep him involved if Town are to continue being a danger going forward.

Dom Thompson: 7

Thompson started his game off brilliantly by chasing a lost cause and crossing for Garrick to score. He provided defensive stability from higher up, though this seemed to be at the cost of much attacking input.

Jordon Garrick: 8

Garrick was superb in the first 45 with a brilliantly-taken first-time finish to kick things off. He seems to have quickly picked up on the aggression of League One and was not pushed around at all. He faded a little in the second half, but Garrick still popped up with good energy until the end.

Brett Pitman: 8

Pitman continued his run of helping Town to positive results by squeezing in the second just before half-time. He might have scored before that, but the 33-year-old still often scores one out of every two good chances he is presented with. That could be key come May.

SUBSTITUTE

Rob Hunt: 6

After coming on as a half-time substitute for Conroy, Hunt was full of energy and desire when defending in the second half. But he got the wrong side of Rogers for the second goal and was then brushed off too easily when trying to recover. He also almost cost Town the point near the end after switching off from a short corner.
