SWINDON Town is set to sign Birmingham City goalkeeper Connal Trueman on an emergency loan, according to reports.

The 24-year-old is thought to be close to joining after previous emergency loan goalkeeper, Jo Jo Wollacott picked up a knee injury in the warm up before Swindon's game against Northampton Town on Saturday.

With only 19-year-old Archie Matthews available, Swindon chose to go back into the emergency loan market to secure another stopper before their trip to the Stadium of Light on Tuesday night.

Trueman spent the first half of the season at Town's League One relegation rivals AFC Wimbledon - keeping a clean sheet as the Dons stifled Swindon in a 1-0 success at the County Ground back in October. The young Englishman also kept three further clean sheets in 22 appearances for Wimbledon.

Trueman is expected to become the sixth Swindon Town goalkeeper to make his debut this season when he takes to the field against Sunderland on Tuesday night.
