SWINDON Town were the third lowest spenders in League One for agent's fees over the past year wracking up a total bill of just £21,632.

The figure - which takes into account the net total spend between February 1, 2020 and February 1, 2021 - drops dramatically from this time last year, when Town forked out £28,818 on agent's and intermediary fees.

Only Gillingham - who paid out nothing in agent's fees, the only side in the top four tiers to do so - and Crewe Alexandra (£4,500) spent less than the County Ground club, with Hull City topping the League One spenders thanks to an astronomical £543,238.

The Tigers were followed by Sunderland (£406,207), Ipswich Town (£341,622), Oxford United (£298,576) and Charlton Athletic (£298,576) at the top end.

In total, just over £3 million was spent by League One clubs on agents’ fees last year. League Two clubs spent £1 million, Championships clubs £40.7 million and Premier League clubs forked out £272 million.
