AHEAD of Town’s League One contest with Peterborough United on Saturday, Adver Sport asked Peterborough Telegraph’s chief sports writer Alan Swann for the inside scoop on Posh.

How are Posh coping with the pressure of the promotion race?

It helps having a manager who has won promotion from League One three times before. They also have good experience in the side with the likes of Mark Beevers and Nathan Thompson so if they fail to finish top two I wouldn’t put it down to pressure. They see this a golden chance to reach the Championship as League One is set to be a lot tougher next season.

The club’s away form has dipped in recent weeks, coincidence or pattern?

Away form has been suspect all season. They certainly look a different, much stronger side at home. Even a couple of their eight away wins (Fleetwood, Hull) have been fortunate ones. It’s a mystery as they have players you would think would be suited to playing counter-attacking football away from home.

Peterborough’s threats are plentiful, but where do their weaknesses lie?

Starting games slowly, defending and attacking set-pieces, and not supporting top scorer Clarke-Harris in numbers have been problems all season. Goalkeeping issues have been a more recent problem. The first-choice XI is strong without obvious weaknesses.

Posh have had their own goalkeeping troubles recently – what’s that been like?

Christy Pym has been excellent for most of this season. He was outstanding against Swindon earlier this season when Posh could have been 3-0 down at half-time before recovering to win. He has struggled in recent weeks (he was culpable for five of seven goals conceded during a run in March), but he’s out for the season now so Posh will hope new man Josef Bursik is as good as his reputation suggests.

Game and score prediction?

On form you’d expect Posh to win, maybe by a repeat of the 3-1 scoreline from London Road, but away form is a concern. Posh have lost at Burton, they didn’t win at Rochdale despite leading 2-0 and earlier in the season they lost to a dreadful Wimbledon side. The return of Jack Taylor to central midfield is massive though and if Clarke-Harris and Dembele receive good service, I’d be confident of a Posh win.
