BEN Chorley is set to leave his role as Swindon Town Football Club's chief scout in order to explore other opportunities.
The scout, who was employed by the County Ground outfit on a freelance basis, began his role in July 2018 looking for players to help Phil Brown attempt to push the club out of League Two.
The former defender – who played for clubs including Milton Keynes, Leyton Orient and Portsmouth during his Football League career – was partially responsible for bringing Diallang Jaiyesimi to SN1 through his knowledge of clubs in the south east, where Chorley was based.
In a statement from Swindon Town, the club said: "Swindon Town would like to thank Ben for his scouting work here at the club.
"Ben wasn't employed by the club, but as a freelance scout. This role over the last 12 months has been a very challenging role for Ben, mainly due to the current pandemic we find ourselves in.
"We would like to wish him all the best in the future."
