ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club's 2-1 defeat to Rochdale on Tuesday night.
Lee Camp: 6
Camp made a few very good saves, but I felt he could have done better with the second goal.
Paul Caddis: 5
A lot of Rochdale’s quality came from Caddis’ side and he didn’t get forward much at all.
Taylor Curran: 3
The youngster was often guilty of ball-watching and was dragged all over by Rochdale’s front men. Curran just looked so uncomfortable out there. Subbed.
Anthony Grant: 4
Grant was often beaten in the air and uncharacteristically lost more of his battles than he won. Maybe time he moved back into midfield.
Jonathan Grounds: 4
Grounds started off OK, but got progressively worse. Beesley had him on toast near the end.
Matty Palmer: 5
Too many safe passes overall, although he did show a mobility that hasn’t been seen often enough.
Christopher Missilou: 5
Another game where he did one good thing and another poor. His lack of desire to defend during the first goal cost Town big time. Subbed.
Jack Payne: 7
Payne was perhaps the only one willing to bust a gut for the team. He popped up everywhere and provided a moment of quality for Garrick’s goal.
Hallam Hope: 5
Had an early shot but failed to offer much after that. Whose fault that was is up for debate. Subbed.
Scott Twine: 6
Twine stung the palms of Lynch with a couple of decent efforts but couldn’t get into the game much with a congested centre of the pitch.
Brett Pitman: 5
Pitman had one tough chance all evening before being taken off and telling his manager exactly what he thought of the decision. Subbed.
SUBSTITUTES
Tom Broadbent: 5
Broadbent was rarely a winner in the air, sent on so Town could go back to front even more quickly. The centre-back did not enjoy an Oxford-like cameo.
Dom Thompson: 6
Thompson showed an urgency and desire to try and make something happen, but to no avail as Rochdale defended doggedly.
Joel Grant: 6
The winger caused problems with his pace and direct approach against a tiring Rochdale defence.
Jordon Garrick: 7
Garrick came in off the wing to score a proper striker’s goal two minutes from time. His pace would have been invaluable earlier on in the game.
