RICHIE Wellens has been named as the new manager of Doncaster Rovers.
The former Town boss had been the hopeful target of many a Swindon fan as the club continues its search for John Sheridan's replacement.
But the 41-year-old has returned to the club where he spent two spells as a player and is revered as a popular figure among Rovers fans.
According to the Doncaster Free Press, Wellens is thought to have signed a one-year rolling contract at the Keepmoat Stadium and will be assisted by former Town coach, Noel Hunt.
