SWINDON’S Fraser Rogers bagged second spot in the third round of British Superbikes National Superstock pre-season testing at Oulton Park.

The In Competition-Aprilia team enjoyed another excellent test day, with Rogers’ teammate Ben Luxton showing he is likely to continue to improve as the season goes on courtesy of some excellent laps at the Cheshire circuit.

With fans back in to watch the action for the first time in over a year, Rogers consistently produced high-quality laps that allowed him to remain inside the top three at the end of all of his outings.

Rogers ended the third session almost 800 of a second back from first place, Luke Hedger, but still managed to clock a best time of 1:38.199.

Reacting to a sparkling overall session at Oulton Park, Rogers said: “P2 at the Official British Superbike National Superstock test at Oulton Park!

“I’m happy with the progress made today, many things tried and learned on the electronic side!

“There is a clear direction with the bike now. No clear laps on the new tyre at the end, but I’m feeling good. Thanks to my team In-competition for the graft all week.”

In Competition team manager, Ian Newton said: “Most of the tests are complete now, we just have Donington to go.

“We have been at Oulton for a couple of days, just to get as much track time aboard the Aprilia RSV4 for both Ben and Fraser.

“They have both advanced over the past few weeks and I am very confident that with the great support system we have from Aprilia Uk and our excellent and dedicated crew, we are in a good position to make a push for some silverware this season.”

Meanwhile, Ben Luxton said: “Very positive test at Oulton Park, We made good progress throughout the day and are heading in the right direction.”

Rogers will now head to the fourth and final pre-season test at Donington Park on June 8.
