JACK Payne and Ellis Iandolo have returned to pre-season training with Swindon Town, according to reports.

The Town duo were among a handful of contracted professionals that had not been seen since the new season got underway - with Jonathan Grounds, Akin Odimayo, and Brett Pitman also failing to show up amid alleged issues with pay.

However, BBC Radio Wiltshire sent out a post on social media on Thursday morning stating Payne and Iandolo have now reported back for the first time this season after being forced to self-isolate due to Covid-19.

With no pre-season friendly scheduled for this Saturday after the club's fixture with Swansea City was cancelled due to "ongoing logistical and operational issues," Payne and Iandolo are expected to gain some match minutes on Tuesday evening when Town take on Swindon Supermarine at the Webbswood Stadium.

Trialist goalkeeper Lewis Ward is also thought to feature once again as goalkeeping coach Steve Mildenhall runs the rule over his potential new recruit.
