SWINDON Town has released its ‘The Race to 6K’ campaign in conjunction with season ticket details for the 2021-22 campaign.

Owner Clem Morfuni is keen to sell 6,000 season tickets as the Australian aims to rebuild the football club following his takeover.

Town have announced that the latest batch of season tickets will feature a small discount for anyone who is renewing from last season or buying new.

The club also say a full refund from last year will be available for anyone who would like one, though refunds will not be available to be paid immediately due to the “various inherited financial issues”.

In a statement released by Swindon Town, owner Morfuni admitted he must acknowledge that – despite this being a period of hope and optimism – “my team and I have inherited a club that requires a significant rebuild” and has asked as many people as possible to waive their refund requests.

Morfuni also said: “Unfortunately, the investment so many of you made into Swindon Town in the spring of 2020 for your season tickets for last season is no longer in the club.

“But the team here have created a set of options that I hope will reward the debt Swindon Town has to you all as loyal fans.”

Prices for the coming season have already been reduced from last term’s in most categories, and the added discount means a new adult season ticket can be bought for £350 in either side stand or £330 in the Town End.

Side stand renewals and new season tickets have been reduced by £30, Town End renewals and new season tickets have been reduced by £20, Concession renewals and season tickets have been reduced by £20, and U21 and U18 renewals and new season tickets have been reduced by £10.

Should the club hit its target of selling 6,000 season tickets, Morfuni says every home game will feature “a random draw for a once-in-a-lifetime, free “Director for the day” experience, including four free tickets.”

Purchase dates for season tickets will be announced “early next week”, while the club also say pay-monthly options will be reintroduced.

Morfuni ended the statement by saying: “This club belongs to you all and I promise all new money coming into the club will go exactly where it should go – to back the management team in getting the players we need to compete and to rebuild the infrastructure at SN1.

I have fully committed to investing my own money into Swindon Town, and to be completely transparent about the financials here. I hope you’ll join me and invest in a season ticket, convince others to get us to 6k and really raise the roof at the County Ground this season.

We are all in this together and I’m excited to see where we can take this great club.
