SWINDON Town midfielder Anthony Grant has been included in the Jamaica squad for the Reggae Boyz's upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Grant has previously made five international appearances for England at U17 and U19 level, but the call up to Jamaica's squad is the first in the 34-year-old's career.

Jamaica have three World Cup qualifiers in the space of seven days, with two away and one at home. Grant will not be available to play in the Reggae Boyz's home game against Panama on September 5 due to UK quarantine rules.

If selected, the Swindon midfielder could play against Mexico on September 2 and against Costa Rica on September 8.

Fellow UK-based call-ups include Brentford's Ethan Pinnock, Reading's Liam Moore and West Ham United striker Michail Antonio as Jamaica look to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Grant's inclusion marks the third international call-up for Town following Jonny Williams' selection in the Wales squad and Kaine Kesler-Hayden being called-up by England U20s. It is therefore likely that Swindon's upcoming games against Stevenage and Arsenal U21 will be postponed.
