SWINDON Town goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott has been shortlisted by Football League World for its Fans' League Two player of the month award.

Swindon's stopper has been nominated alongside five others on the EFL-focused website, including; Northampton Town's Jon Guthrie, Hartlepool United's Tyler Burey, Harrogate Town's Luke Armstrong, Forest Green Rovers' Jamille Matt, and Bradford City's Andy Cook.

All six have enjoyed sparkling starts to the new season, with the majority of the nominees' clubs holding at least a play-off spot. Northampton lie just outside the dotted line in eighth.

Wollacott is leading Town's cause after keeping three consecutive clean sheets in five games as Ben Garner's side ended August in fourth.

According to statistics available on whoscored.com, Wollacott made 18 saves throughout August including a number of crucial stops against Salford City and Tranmere Rovers from which Swindon took four points.

The goalkeeper's outstanding form has been validation for the new-look management team after sticking with one of only eight players to ride out an extraordinarily turbulent summer at the County Ground.

Lewis Ward was brought in as competition for Wollacott following a successful trial period, but the former Portsmouth and Exeter City gloveman has been forced to make do with just one competitive appearance since signing - Town's League Cup first-round defeat to Cambridge United on penalties.

In League Two action, Wollacott has conceded just three times in five games - two of which came against Carlisle United as Swindon lost for the only time so far this campaign.
