SWINDON Town head coach Ben Garner says the club will not postpone its League Two fixture at home to Crawley Town on Saturday 13th despite three international call-ups.

Jonny Williams, Jojo Wollacott, and Anthony Grant have all been picked by their respective squads for World Cup qualifiers, therefore the trio will be unavailable as Swindon return to league action, while Harry McKirdy will carry out his one-game suspension from five yellow cards.

Garner did reveal that Alex Gilbert and Kaine Kesler-Hayden are not currently in their respective squads, but Kesler-Hayden is on stand-by so he may well be called up too.

In Friday’s pre-match press conference, Garner said: “It certainly gives us the option [to postpone], but we don’t intend to do that. We intend to play the game as we have done in the past two windows.

“We’ve taken four points from six in the international windows so far, and like we’ve said all along, we’ve put that squad in place where there is strength in depth.

“We’ve got that quality there where we think anyone can come in and we can still win games in this division – our aim will be to continue that.”

Meanwhile, on-loan defender Romoney Crichlow will miss this weekend’s FA Cup first-round tie between Town and Crewe Alexandra after sustaining an ankle injury against Oldham Athletic last weekend, Garner confirmed.

The Swindon boss did not reveal a time frame for the Huddersfield Town loanee’s return, but stated he is the only expected absentee from the squad on Saturday due to injury.

He said: “Rom’s ankle is still swollen, so he’s been in a protective boot this week. We’re just waiting for that swelling to go down, and then it’ll be a case of rehabilitation for him.

“He’s certainly unavailable for Crewe, but we’ll try and get him back as quickly as possible once he’s out of that boot.

“We’ve had a couple of little knocks in training, but nothing major and I’d expect everyone to be fit and available.”
