SWINDON Town head coach Ben Garner wants three points against Bristol Rovers on Saturday 'for the fans'.

The former Bristol Rovers boss has already led his new team to victory against his old employers - a largely dominant 3-1 success at the Memorial Stadium back in October.

After being given a mixed reception on his return to Bristol, Garner was visibly delighted to have helped his new team dispose of Joey Barton's men in convincing fashion.

But just as he did last time, Garner says personal feelings will not interfere and he is desperate to do the double over the Gas for the Town supporters who have wholeheartedly backed him since he arrived.

Garner said: “First and foremost, it would be fantastic for us to get the three points.

"That’s what we want, to build on a great result last week. If we can get another three points, that will give us really good momentum.

“We’d love to do it for the supporters because we know there is always that added spice with a derby game.

“But from a professional perspective, we won’t get drawn into that. We’ll stay focused on what we need to do and the processes that we need to follow to get the result.

“Hopefully we can give the supporters something to cheer about so they can go home happy."
