SWINDON Town target Brad Young could fulfil his clear potential under Ben Garner, according to Carlisle United reporter Jon Colman.

The 19-year-old is reportedly being chased by a host of League Two clubs - including Swindon Town, Northampton Town, Mansfield Town, and Port Vale - as the January window nears its conclusion.

Should Swindon be successful in bringing the talented striker to the County Ground, Carlisle's man in the know, Jon Colman, has explained what Town fans should expect.

He said: "Carlisle signed Young early in the season at a time they were showing early signs of needing extra goal threat.

"The teenager made his mark with an aggressive substitute's introduction at Port Vale, and performed with clear energy and commitment.

"His only goals, though, came in the cups; against Horsham in the FA Cup, and Everton's Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.

"Young took those chances well - and also showcased his Jorginho-style penalty-taking in Trophy shoot-outs - but found things harder going in the league.

"Carlisle are among the lowest scoring teams in the Football League, so chances weren't exactly plentiful, but the signs were that the team needed someone a little more established to lead the line in their predicament.

"Young's appetite and hard-working nature was clear and hopefully he'll go on to fulfil his potential."
