ADVER Sport assess the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 3-0 defeat away to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night.

Jojo Wollacott: 6

Wollacott was left helpless for all three goals, but he did make a couple of saves otherwise. The chaos was in front of him.

Rob Hunt: 5

Town’s shape meant Hunt was always too high to help out when a mistake was made – which was quite regularly. Town didn’t offer much going forward, therefore Hunt’s impact was restricted at the other end as well.

Jake O’Brien: 3

The Crystal Palace loanee had a shocker. Short of getting sent off, not much more could have gone wrong for O’Brien. He looked sluggish, he left his man for a chance early on, and then did the same for the second goal. And he gave away a penalty for a blatant shirt pull. Hopefully he responds quickly as his previous displays had shown improvement game after game.

Brandon Cooper: 4

His night started by gifting Tranmere the opening goal, and he never really recovered. It was a nervous performance from a player who had looked fantastic in his previous two.

Akin Odimayo: 5

His passing was sharp and decisive, but he gave the ball away in a bad position for a couple of chances in the second half. Arguably the best of three centre-backs, all of whom struggled.

Joe Tomlinson: 5

Tomlinson’s second game was always going to be a disappointment after his first, but the Chiseldon lad really let his standards slip against Tranmere. He gave the ball away too many times and lost the ball in a poor position prior to the third goal. On a positive note, Tomlinson did put in a few handy crosses.

Ben Gladwin: 5

Gladwin was often the first point of contact at defensive corners or free-kicks, while his passing was tidy for the most part.

Ellis Iandolo: 5

Iandolo was a little too safe with his passing, but having seen what his defensive teammates had done perhaps that was understandable. A poor and needless tackle near the end highlighted the lack of discipline this Town squad seems to show every week. Booked.

Jonny Williams: 5

Williams picked up pockets of space well before being substituted with a groin injury midway through the first half. Subbed.

Harry McKirdy: 5

Another game where his touch often deserted him, the January Player Of The Month nominee had little effect on proceedings. No shots at goal at all summed up a frustrating night.

Josh Davison: 6

Davison battled away well against Tranmere’s Tom Davies and Peter Clarke, holding up the ball well. The Charlton Athletic loanee missed a guilt-edge chance in the first half as the wait for a first goal goes on.

Jayden Mitchell-Lawson: 5

The striker was sent on in the first half after Williams came off injured, but the rust in his game was evident as he was caught offside a couple of times and failed to kick Town into gear going forward.
