SWINDON Town Supporters Trust provides an update on its upcoming AGM as well as the news regarding support for the Her Game Too initiative and plans to donate scarves to local children.

We’re just under one month away from our 2022 TrustSTFC AGM, which this year will include a newly-introduced process for Board applications to existing Trust members. We have had some interest in these positions, and a number of applications, but we’d really like to see this number increase to ensure we have a diverse selection of candidates for our members to elect.

Our application process is still open, but the deadline to submit your details will be next Tuesday, 1st March, at 12pm.

There is an application form that needs to be completed, as well as being accompanied by a formal application statement that will be published to members should a vote be required. Your Board application will also need to be proposed and seconded by an existing TrustSTFC member. Further details of the process, governance, and application requirements can be found on our website or can be sent to members who get in touch with us requesting these.

We’ll have details over the coming weeks on how members can attend this year’s AGM in person, should they wish to. Please keep an eye on your inboxes for our newsletter.

We were delighted to support the club recently on their backing and involvement in Her Game Too - a fan-led campaign with the aim of stomping out sexist abuse at football, and drowning out the noise of misogynists within the game.

A whole host of Premier League and EFL teams have thrown their support behind the movement since its inception last year, and we know this is a campaign that aligns with the club’s approach and aim that women and girls of all ages feel confident and safe sharing their opinion about football, both online and in real life, without fear of sexist abuse.

We’re grateful to TrustSTFC Officer, Laura Morgan, who has been involved in working alongside Her Game Too, Swindon Women FC, the OSC and Community Foundation in bringing this partnership to The County Ground, and our home fixture against Forest Green Rovers on March 26th will be dedicated to Her Game Too.

Over the last couple of months, we’ve been distributing TrustSTFC scarves to bronze+ members and have been delighted with the uptake and feedback from members. Not only this, but we’ve had nearly 100 members donate their scarves back to us to be distributed to local children. We’re still working up the logistics of how best to distribute these, but once complete, we’ll notify members.

And finally, we’ll be attending next week’s Advisory Board meeting at the club. If any member or fan has a question or query they’d like us to raise, please get in touch this weekend, and we’ll ensure its referenced on your behalf.
