SWINDON Town head coach Ben Garner is confident his side can follow up their late win against Oldham Athletic when they welcome Sutton United to the County Ground on Tuesday night (7:45pm kick-off).

With Harry McKirdy back in the line-up, Town will hope to improve on an indifferent record when matches come quickly after each other.

Following a weekend victory, Garner’s men have only won half of their six games three days later (non-EFL Trophy).

But the Town boss believes his team will build on Saturday’s narrow win as they aim to kick on during a tough run of fixtures.

He said: “I’m very confident we’ll be able to follow up Saturday. I think the players are in a good place.

“I felt a sense of joy and happiness after the win on Saturday, but also it was a case of straight back to business on Sunday morning.

“We were straight back in, but the players were in good spirits and they showed good focus.

“We’ve had a reasonably good run with five wins from seven and four clean sheets in there too.

“We’ve gathered a decent amount of momentum, and we want to continue that by making it six wins from eight against Sutton.

“If we can do that, we’ll be in a good place to be able to attack the game against Crawley as the last game of this set.”
