SWINDON Town head coach Scott Lindsey has revealed his defensive duo of Ellis Iandolo and Reece Devine could be out of action for up to two months through injury.

Devine has been ruled out with a hamstring problem while the diagnosis on Iandolo’s issue remains unclear.

Lindsey had previously mentioned there were “a few issues” that Town’s longest-serving player was dealing with – all of which will see him miss August and much of September.

Discussing the status of his entire squad ahead of Saturday’s clash away to Carlisle United, Lindsey said: “In terms of injuries, we’re pretty much the same as we were on Monday.

“Ellis Iandolo and Reece Devine are ongoing, and they’re both going to be out for around six to eight weeks.

“That might end up being shorter because of the rehabilitation work that we’re putting in, so I’m hopeful it will be shorter than that. But six to eight weeks is worst-case scenario.”

Sheffield Wednesday loanee Ciaran Brennan is the only other Town player to miss consecutive games through injury as Harry McKirdy is expected to return from a one-game suspension against his former club.

Lindsey suggested his missing centre-back will be allowed to take the rest of this week off to ensure his concussion symptoms are definitely gone before returning to training.

Lindsey said: “Ciaran Brennan – who I’ve just spoken to on the phone – is being given a little bit more time before we start the concussion protocol again.

“He’s not been in at all since last Saturday, recovering at home, and we’ll start the process again once we’re happy that there’s no symptoms.

“I’ve just spoken to him, and there’s no symptoms as of now. But we’ll probably give him a little extra time to make sure that he comes back fully-recovered this time.”
