SWINDON Town Official Supporters Club review the past two weeks and look ahead to the club’s trip to Carlisle United - following the newly-introduced away-day quiz, of course!

Well, three games in, no wins, no goals, and out of a cup (nothing changes there!). For those of us of a past generation, the League Cup leaves us somewhat misty eyed - think of ties with Arsenal, Wolves, and Bolton - so it is a shame to see sides changed so dramatically and the cup somewhat disrespected, but if it means this action assists in Town’s promotion push, who’s to argue?

On the subject of arguing, most of us are still recovering our voices from yelling at Mr Woolmer and Mr McKirdy after one of the more frantic 0-0’s seen at the County Ground on Saturday. A crazy and somewhat ill-disciplined first half by Town, followed by a determined performance after the break, with Darcey and Hutton showing promise. Oh! and at last we have someone with a long throw!

A further addition to the squad arrived on Wednesday in Frazer Blake-Tracy on loan from Burton Albion…welcome and good luck!

Safe journey to all those travelling to Carlisle this weekend. I wonder what reception Harry will get, sporting the new hairdo, and what selection of fast foods will be thrown at him this time?

On the subject of Carlisle, look out for the OSC quiz. The last one, before Harrogate, was well received and broke up the long journey. The plan is to compile one for every away game this year as there are a lot of miles to cover!

We hope those of you who tuned in or watched later enjoyed the Monday Night Panel/On the Sofa this week. A big thank you to our captain Angus McDonald who joined us, despite having to travel.

We must also offer our sincere gratitude to Mark, the panellists, and especially Vic, who give up their time voluntarily to produce what is becoming an increasingly popular show.

Look out for next week’s event where we hope to have Ricky McFarlane and George Keen (STFC Sports Scientists) On the Sofa!

We’ve been busy organising for the new campaign. OSC membership for the 2022-23 season is now available online at www.stfc-osc.com - you can join for only £5.

Membership means that you’ll be entered into draws for hospitality tickets, access to member-only events, and discounted coach tickets for away games with SAS Travel. All members will also receive a free fixtures wall chart where you can track all the matches next season. Join now!

Come on you Reds!
