Premier Division leaders Wroughton were held to a 0-0 draw by visitors Bromham in a lively encounter at the Weir Field.

The match got off to an explosive start when Wroughton's Tom Steptoe received a straight red card following a tackle on a Bromham forward after just 10 minutes play.

Down to 10 men, the leaders then conceded a penalty but much to the relief of the home supporters the spot kick, by Bromham's top marksman Tom Pang, was saved by stand-in keeper Richard Poulton who usually plays in the back four for his side.

With the advantage of an extra man Bromham had plenty of possession after the break but failed to create any real clear cut chances.

The home side's 10 men fought for every ball and at the whistle deserved their point.

Wroughton boss Mark Love said: "The lads battled well and put in a lot of effort. The stand-in keeper did well with the penalty and in the end I think a draw was a fair result.

"Tom was disappointed he put the side in the position of having to play with 10 men for 80 minutes, he will just have to buy the lads a drink or two."

New College did well to beat Bradford Town 3-1 on their own ground and keep a top-four place in their sights.

The Swindon side had the better of the first 20 minutes and took a deserved lead soon after with a strike from Darryl Charman.

Luke Watkins added a second when his shot hit a defender before entering the net but a quick corner from the home side caught College on the back foot and Mark Robinson pulled a goal back just before the break.

Honours were fairly even after the break with the home side striving for an equaliser. However, with 10 minutes to go, Charman struck again from a corner to make sure of the points.

Melksham proved too strong on the day for Purton Reserves, who were beaten 4-0 with two goals from Amelia Menghini and one apiece from Sam Jordan and Rob Morney.

Aldbourne also found themselves up against it at Calne, the home side running out winners 5-0 with four of the goals coming in the first 45 minutes.

Chris Pitman and Dan Jones both scored from set pieces with John O'Meara adding a third and a cross by Nick Oram deflected into the net by an Aldbourne defender for the fourth.

The home side rested on their laurels in the second half until Steve Davies added a fifth.

Marlborough Town gained a 2-0 away win over local rivals Pewsey Vale thanks to goals from Dean Hughes and Steve Dean.

Minety clinched the Division One title with a 4-0 victory over Lower Stratton after a goalless first 45 minutes.

Soon after the restart Ashley Williams scored twice in six minutes followed by another from Mar Cowan five minutes later. Adam Mayhew completed the scoring in the closing stages.

In the fight for the runners-up spot, AFC Stratton Nalgo beat Blyskawica 4-2 with three goals from Shane Hibberd and one from Pete Shepherd while Stratton Juniors beat AFC Rodbourne 2-1, Pete Mannion and Arran Maximen on target.

Abbey Rodbourne were trailing 2-0 at the break against Blunsdon but fought back in the second half to share the points in a 3-3 draw, Sam Bown and Nathan Shepherd netting for Abbey and Wayne Petrie (2) and John Le Strange for the home side.

Marlborough Town and Swindon Irons shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw Michael Stone on target for the Town.

Dynamo CDR beat Intel 3-1 in Group B of the Subsidiary Cup, Ash Petoski, Scott Walker and an own goal from Tom Collister the scorers for Dynamo with Ross Taylor on target for the visitors.
