ADVER Sport readers voted Swindon Town midfielder Ben Gladwin as their man of the match against Sutton United on Tuesday night.

Gladwin secured 56 per cent of the vote after playing a significant role in two of Town's goals and maintaining his strong form at the start of the new campaign.

Jonny Williams was the only other player to garner more than three per cent of the votes, with the Welshman claiming 40 per cent ahead of Frazer Blake-Tracy (three per cent) and both Jacob Wakeling and Tyrese Shade (one).

As well as voting, a handful of Town fans elaborated on their choice. Lambo75 said: "Ben Gladwin for me, every home game this season so far.

"Can't believe he is overlooked when he's one of the only players putting a real shift in. Box to box, tackling, decent range of passing. If we'd have had this version last season then we'd have finished in the play offs."

Carnegie began discussing Gladwin's performance before moving on to others who were not put up for the award. They said: "Yeah, Gladwin for me as well yesterday. His all-round game is better than we've previously seen from him, even during the play-off final year.

"MacDonald's passing is very basic, but how many of us were calling for a no-nonsense centre half? He will come into his own as the season moves on I reckon as the playing conditions deteriorate.

"Reed has had a slow start to the season, but I dread the thought of the Town line-up without him. He will come good again."

Get that bus out "Butler" voted for Williams but praised Gladwin for his display, saying: "Williams had an excellent game and just edged it in front of Ben Gladwin who put in a great performance and possibly dispels the theory that these two struggle when both in the team together.

"Most players did very well last night to be fair and thought Shade and Lavinier looked a handful."
