IN Swindon Town Supporters Trust’s latest column, the group discusses a wide array of topics including a forgettable performance for Scott Lindsey’s men at Stockport County, recognising our servicemen and women, and ideas to improve the atmosphere at the County Ground.

The less said about last weekend, the better. There’ll be no cup run for us this year, but at least that provides ample opportunity for us to push for promotion. That said, the performance against Stockport was hugely disappointing.

Looking ahead to this weekend’s home fixture against Tranmere Rovers, with Remembrance Day almost upon us, STFC is recognising all the loyal servicemen and women across our armed forces, for the dedication, bravery and honour they have given to our country.

The club have a range of activities planned, as well as offering discounted tickets and money off food and drink for military personnel past and present.

Earlier this week, we were in attendance at the latest Advisory Board meeting to cover a whole host of topics. Supporter groups, representatives from the club and their sponsors, the Community Foundation, and Don Rogers were all present.

The minutes from this session will be available on the club’s website in due course, covering the latest information on the financial health of the club, as well as the ongoing matters surrounding legal disputes, and the positive developments regarding The County Ground acquisition.

At the time of writing this column, there was no official communication from club post-Advisory Board. But we can confirm there were lengthy discussions with those present on Tuesday to talk about the ongoing topic of unaccompanied U16s. We provided feedback from Trust members and fans, and had also previously suggested a range of alternative solutions to no avail.

The policy is under constant review, and we understand the club are planning some additional communications and context to fans in the coming days.

In recent weeks, supporter groups have been asked for thoughts around improving the match-day atmosphere, and our thoughts for what the club should activate in the lead up to the festive period. We’re excited to be directly involved with the club on some of these plans, and look forward to what they bring to life.

We have a double-header of home games over the next two Saturday’s and we hope to see as many of you there getting behind the team. Please drop us an email if you have any questions, or if you need a matter raised with the club. COYR!
