IN TrustSTFC's latest column, the group looks back on an eventful past couple of weeks involving Swindon Town and highlights the important work Paul Caddis is doing to raise awareness of type-one diabetes in young people.

It was a frustrating couple of Saturdays at The County Ground in November, only clocking a single goal and a single point in League Two. But with a couple of weeks' break, here’s to hoping that we head into December with a fresh mindset and the opportunity to bounce back and pick up plenty of points!

The next fixture for us is on December 3, away to Crawley Town, who are not having the best of seasons on or off the field. Ticket information is available on the club’s website.

We were pleased to hear last week that the winding-up petition made against Swindon Town FC has been dismissed. Centreplate UK was attempting to have the club wound up, claiming it was owed around £300,000. During the hearing, the judge dismissed the case confirming there weren't grounds to force the club to sell any assets in order to pay the debt.

The club has always been forthcoming and vocal in the fact that they admit there is a debt to be cleared - one which was inherited by Clem Morfuni when he took over from the previous regime. But the figure has always been disputed by the club, claiming it to be significantly lower than what Centreplate are demanding.

The club has done a fantastic job of reducing historical debt from £7.5m last July to just over £1million currently. We’ll await the next Advisory Board meeting for an update on the latest finances, as well as the situation surrounding the Centreplate debt.

If you’ve been following our social-media channels, or are subscribed to our newsletter, you will have seen that TrustSTFC and the Official Supporters Club both made a donation of £500 this week to the fund-raising campaign by former title-winning Town man, Paul Caddis. Our donation was on behalf of our members and went some way to helping him reach his £5,000 target.

Caddis was in attendance at Saturday’s fixture and is raising funds for his 10-year old daughter Summer by completing the Three Peaks Challenge, in aid of type-one diabetes research. If you’d like to donate, please get in touch with us via social media and we can share a link with you to the GoFundMe page.

In just under two weeks, I’ll be attending the final Advisory Board meeting of the calendar year. With the festive period fast approaching and plenty going on over the New Year, there may be a delay to January’s meeting being scheduled, so if you have any burning questions or comments for us to raise with the club, please do let us know before the end of November by dropping us an email to info@truststfc.com.
