SWINDON Town striker Harry Parsons or defender Harrison Minturn can be Chippenham Town’s FA Cup hero against Burton Albion on Sunday, according to Bluebirds’ boss Gary Horgan.

The pair of young Robins have spent the past few weeks on loan at the National League South club, and both helped Chippenham pull off one of the shocks of the FA Cup first round earlier this month.

Horgan’s men saw off League One Lincoln City 1-0 thanks to Joe Hanks’ sensational backheeled finish, and now the non-league side are set to face a Brewers team which is 71 places above them in the pyramid at the Pirelli Stadium (2pm kick-off).

With Hanks likely to miss out due to an ankle injury picked up against Hastings United in the FA Trophy last Saturday, Horgan knows he will need a new man to fill the goal-scoring void as the Bluebirds hunt a spot in the third round and a possible dream tie with one of English football’s elite.

After revealing news of Hanks’ injury in his pre-match press conference, Horgan said: “I said it before the Lincoln game, and I believe it again now – there will be a hero within our dressing room.

“We’ve had a hero in every round so far. Luke Russe, Harvey Greenslade, and Jordan Young scored at Sholing.

“Caine Bradbury scored against Met Police, at Hendon we had Joe Parker pop up. Then, obviously, there was Joe Hanks against Lincoln.

“There’s been a different goalscorer and a different hero in every round so far. Harry Parsons, Jordon Young, or Craig Fasamade can be that hero for us at Burton.”

Chippenham’s crop of current and former Swindon players – Parsons, Minturn, Young and Will Henry – have all featured at Football League level before and aspire to return there soon.

Horgan is hopeful that, before they do, all four players show potential onlookers their absolute maximum ability for Chippenham which in turn helps the club provide another Cup shock.

Careful not to reveal his team for Sunday, Horgan said: “Both Harry Parsons and Harrison Minturn played against Lincoln.

“They’re looking to get into that environment and looking to break into a first team at the professional level on a regular basis.

“Hopefully they can help us this weekend as they bring that youthful exuberance and almost a little bit of arrogance at times that says: “this is where I want to be.”

“With that, almost naivety, it can bring an attitude which helps everybody. If we blend that in with the experience that we’ve got, that gives us a real chance to go and do something special again.”
