In Swindon Town Supporters Club's latest article, the group discuss the Robin's player at the FIFA World Cup as well as the perks of being an OSC member.

Wales are heading back from Qatar and Jonny Williams unfortunately ended up getting no further than the bench. Disappointing though it was not to see Joniesta working his magic on the world stage, he should be proud to be only the fourth contracted Swindon Town player to ever be included in a world cup squad.

Hopefully Jonny will be back fit for Saturday’s match against Crawley. I think it’s clear that we’ve really missed his creativity in the final third of the pitch and the defeat against a much changed and time-wasting Crewe was another disappointment.

It was a shame that the Crewe match ended like it did. The OSC were Captain’s Sponsors for the match and several lucky OSC members (drawn at random) watched the match in the hospitality suite. Despite the result, everyone still managed to enjoy themselves and the day included a pre-match photo with Ben Gladwin.

Winning those free hospitality tickets is one of the many benefits of being an OSC member. We will also shortly be drawing three lucky members who will each win a Christmas hamper. It’s only £5 to join the OSC – why not join up now and get your name in the hat for a prize?

The OSC are also sponsoring the Senior Citizens’ Christmas Party this year which takes place on Tuesday 13th December. The event has now completely sold out and I’m sure everyone will have a fantastic time – with a visit from some members of the first team squad, management and also Father Christmas himself!

Finally, if you’re after another nostalgia fix, then head over to our YouTube page and watch the recent On the Sofa event with Raffaele De Vita. He shared with Vic Morgan some fantastic memories of those two incredible seasons with Paolo Di Canio. Some of the stories he told really were hard to believe and brought back some fantastic memories.

It’s back to business on Saturday away to Crawley who we hope won’t get that new manager bounce following the appointment of Matthew Etherington as their third manager this season.

Come on you Reds!
