SWINDON Town are in 'advanced talks' to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender, Malachi Fagan-Walcott, according to reports.

Per Football Insider, Town are hoping to sign the 20-year-old centre-back in a permanent deal before Tuesday night's deadline.

The move could signal the end of Angus MacDonald's time at the County Ground, with the 30-year-old club captain reportedly of significant interest to League One Burton Albion.

Fagan-Walcott is a left-sided centre-back who emerged through Spurs' academy and signed his first professional contract in November 2019.

Just four months later, the England youth international made his first-team debut when he came on as a substitute in added-time of Spurs' 3-0 Champions League defeat away at RB Leipzig.

The 20-year-old has only left Tottenham once before, playing just twice on loan at Dundee in the Scottish Championship before he suffered a season-ending hamstring tear and was forced to return to the capital.

Despite making 15 appearances for Tottenham's Under-23s this season, the young defender has chosen to leave north London in search of regular first-team football.
