ADVER Sport assesses the performances of the Swindon Town players following the club’s 1-1 draw away at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Sol Brynn: 6

Clearly, he was powerless to stop Omar Beckles’ header. Otherwise, Brynn’s handling was a little untidy at times, but he made a few decent saves to keep Town in it.

Remeao Hutton: 5

A fair amount of Orient’s attacks came down his side. Hutton seemed to be flat-footed a lot of the time, and his shoulders were facing the wrong way so often as the wingers flew past. He was incredibly lucky not to give away a penalty right at the death too.

Harrison Minturn: 6

There were at least two moments where Minturn put his side in danger by losing the ball on the edge of his own box. He tends to square himself off when waiting to receive the ball too. If he can improve on that, he has plenty of impressive attributes to build on. Minturn battled away brilliantly regardless, and he should take a lot of encouragement from his first league start.

Tom Clayton: 7

The scouse centre-back held Town’s patched-up defensive line together pretty well, all told. It wasn’t always beautiful, but it was often effective. His constant communication really helped Minturn and Tomlinson play with confidence.

Joe Tomlinson: 7

For a guy who has rarely – if ever – played centre-back in his career, Tomlinson was really impressive against Orient’s dangerous right side. He held his own against Theo Archibald, and healed some historic (quite literal) scars against the Orient man.

Reece Devine: 7

Devine was really impressive during his 53 minutes on the pitch. A couple of marauding runs forward showed the Town fans just what he is capable of. Another long-term injury, it seems, will stop them from seeing him again any time soon, which is a real shame. Subbed.

Dylan Kadji: 4

The Bristol City loanee endured his worst game in a Swindon shirt by some distance. He let Beckles go for Orient’s goal, gave the ball away on countless occasions, and was caught out of position plenty. He must learn quickly.

George McEachran: 7

After a poor first 15 minutes, McEachran recovered brilliantly to match his usual standard of performance. Once again, his defensive positioning was excellent, and he scampered forward when he could. I’d trigger the one-year extension now, if I’m Town. Booked.

Jonny Williams: 6

Williams saw an early shot saved, but he struggled to have too much of an effect otherwise. His commitment was admirable, though. He never backed out of any 50-50 challenges in a fierce encounter. Subbed.

Charlie Austin: 6

Another game passes by without a shot for the striker. But his hold-up play was a little better than last week, and he helped Rushian Hepburn-Murphy thrive by bearing the physical brunt. Subbed.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy: 7

His energy and commitment was characteristically high, and he often looked a real danger to Orient’s stingy defence. The through ball to Wakeling was inch-perfect. A first 90 minutes will do his confidence the world of good too.

SUBSTITUTES

Jacob Wakeling: 7

Playing at left wing-back, Wakeling met the challenge head on. Quite literally at times. He did plenty of good defensive work, and he took his chance brilliantly to help Swindon earn a point.

Tyrese Shade: N/A, Ronan Darcy: N/A

Both players came on too late to receive a rating.
