SWINDON Town Official Supporters Club calls on the club to build next season's team around striker Charlie Austin. Plus, an Evening with Michael Doughty is around the corner and tickets are selling fast.

After the last three results, it does feel ominously like Swindon Town’s season is starting to fade away. However, at least those hardy souls who travelled to Rochdale last weekend got to see a four-goal masterclass from Charlie Austin.

Austin surely must be the player we build next season’s squad around. What a brilliant performance it was from him last weekend, where he proved that he’s still got every bit of that goal-scoring ability he had over a decade ago.

Tickets have been selling fast for our Evening with Michael Doughty on Monday, March 27 in the Legends Lounge from 7pm. Our very own Vic Morgan will be MC for the evening and will be talking to Michael all about his career and what’s next for him – and most importantly why sustainability is such a key topic for us all right now.

You can still get a ticket if you’re quick – they’re on sale from our website – or come and buy one from us at the OSC table in the Legends Lounge before Saturday’s match. It promises to be a cracking evening and one not to miss!

We’ve now confirmed the date for the end-of-season presentation dinner. This will be held on Wednesday, May 3 in the Legends Lounge. These are always fantastic evenings and a great opportunity for fans to meet the players. Make sure you put this in your diary and watch socials for when tickets go on sale.

Our next home match - against Mansfield Town on April 7 - promises to be a memorable day for 11 ardent Swindon Town fans who will be senior mascots for the match.

The OSC purchased 11 senior mascot packages, and these were offered to members to nominate a super fan aged 60 or over. A panel of independent judges reviewed all applications, and the nominations selected have been contacted with the exciting news!

As we mentioned in the programme notes for the Carlisle match, the OSC recently launched our Charity of the Year for 2023. We’ve chosen the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation. Last week, Hannah from the OSC was invited to attend an appreciation evening for the charity at Anfield attended by Stephen and his wife Steph Houghton, along with many other famous players and celebrities.

The charity has now raised over £1.2 million and we’re looking forward to increasing this amount with even more fund-raising events – watch this space!

Do you want to earn some extra money? We're looking for Matchday Draw sellers! You could earn a minimum £30 or 10% commission from all tickets you manage to sell. You need to be 18 and over and available to sell MDD tickets 2hrs before kick-off. More info on our website or contact us via email on admin@stfc-osc.com.

Onto Saturday then and what looks like a tough home game against Stockport County. The Hatters really are flying at the moment in their first season back in the Football League after an 11-year absence. The past decade was a really turbulent time for the club and a grim warning for any club flirting with relegation to non-league football.

Having played Stockport twice already this season – and not securing a victory – hopefully Saturday will bring Swindon all three points! COYR!
