SCHOOLS from across Swindon took part in a Kwik Cricket festival organised by the Swindon School Partnership in conjunction with the English Cricket Board.
There were two categories - a girls' festival and a mixed festival - with all competitors currently in school year 6.
St Josephs' College supported the event by providing year 10 students to umpire, and the event was sponsored by ASDA.
The girls festival was won by Wanborough Primary School, who narrowly pipped Ruskin Primary in the final.
Both schools will now represent Swindon in the Wiltshire Youth Games, a county competition.
The mixed festival again saw Wanborough and Ruskin in the final. This time it was a draw, with both schools progressing to the county finals.
Festival co-ordinator Adam Iles said: "The whole competition was played in excellent spirit and was a superb advert for the festival aims of enjoyment and fair play. There was an exciting level of skill and performance on show in both festivals."
Tournaments and festivals such as this are representative of the partnership's commitment to the improvement and increase of opportunities for all schools to enjoy inter-school competition.
