Tariq Uwakwe is currently training away from the Swindon Town first team as a destination away from the club is sought.
Mark Kennedy told two players upon his arrival at the club that they did not fit into his plans, Uwakwe and Saidou Khan, and Town looked to find a way for them to depart during the summer.
Khan made a season-long loan move to Tranmere Rovers on Deadline Day, although Uwakwe was unable to find a new club, with a move that had been agreed late in the window breaking done after the buying club sustained an injury in a different position and had to reallocate resources and couldn’t bring him in.

With National League clubs still able to make transfers, Swindon are still attempting to find him a new club.
Kennedy said: “That is a question for Jamie if I am being honest; all I can say to you is that I had a conversation with Tariq, who has been a model pro and a real pleasure to work with, about how difficult it would be to get into my plans.
“Nothing has changed about that and I am guessing that between him, his agent, and the club, we are looking to find a solution where he can get minutes but it will be elsewhere.”
The head coach added that whilst Uwakwe continued to train at Swindon whilst the situation was sorted, he was not doing so with the first team.
He said: “Yes he is still training but no it is not with us. He is training every day with Swindon Town, just not with the first team.
“We have got a high volume of numbers, so unfortunately for Tariq, we don’t have space for him.
“We have got a duty of care and welfare to look after our players and that means giving the player a programme where he can stay fit and maximise his numbers every day.
“I physically can’t do that with the first team because not only have we got a first-team squad but we have got some development players whose futures haven’t been decided yet.
“You continue to work with them, whereas you have made a decision on Tariq, so you can’t give him the programme that he deserves as a professional footballer to stay fit and stay up to speed.
“What we have done is made sure he is training with a large group of players every day where he can get that.”
