Swindon Town lost their undefeated record on the road in League Two as they were defeated 2-1 against Port Vale.
Town arrived at Vale Park having made a difficult start to the season, with just one win across all competitions under Mark Kennedy, but with the head coach hopeful of a potential turnaround.
However, after a first half in which Swindon were distinctly second best, George Byers charged untouched through the crowd to head home from a corner before Brandon Cover latched onto a defensive error to chip home the second.
With the game all but over, Will Wright curled in a lovely free kick for his second goal of the season but it did not spark an unlikely comeback.
After the game, Kennedy discussed the match with BBC Wiltshire and The Adver to give his thoughts on the display and remarked upon his disappointment with Town's "bravery" and defending in key moments.
He was then followed by the goal scorer and captain on the day Wright as he spoke about how Town needed to trust themselves more when playing out from the back and also make more moments from them to believe in what the they were trying to accomplish.
