Mark Kennedy and Joel McGregor both felt that Swindon Town were able to show more of their quality in the 1-1 draw at Tranmere Rovers.
Kristian Dennis' goal in the first half threw Swindon off of some positive early rhythm before Chris Merrie headed into his own net from George Cox's corner in the second to earn Swindon a point on the road.
The draw means that Town continue to await their first away win of the campaign and have just one win from 11 matches across all competitions, leaving them 21st in the table.
After the match, Kennedy said that he was pleased with the character that his team showed, not only to improve three days after a disappointing display at Port Vale and also to come back after falling behind.
The head coach also discussed his decision to replace Jack Bycroft in goal with Norwich City loanee Dan Barden, believing that he needed to make the big calls as a head coach.
First-year professional McGregor spoke to the press after the game having replaced Jeff King in the first half as he went off injured and said he was enjoying the fight he has had this season to compete with more experienced players.
