Swindon Town defender Joel McGregor had a freak accident that has set back his recovery from an ankle injury.
Ian Holloway had been hoping to be able to count on McGregor soon, as it was revealed that he had returned to running on the grass in the last two weeks.
The academy product has been missing since late July after enduring an ankle injury in training under the challenge of Filozofe Mabete.
The diagnosis was initially that he would be out for around eight weeks, but two months on from the injury, he is facing a longer wait to return to action.

Stats say Swindon are one of league's worst attacks, but Holloway sees easy fix
McGregor fell down the stairs at home and has "re-injured" himself, and will miss another few weeks, although a specific timeline has not yet been provided.
This could not have come at a much worse time for Swindon, not only because of their injury crisis, but also because of the specific issues that they have experienced at right-back.
Mitch Clark is two games into a three-game ban for pushing Ollie Banks at York City, and Joe Snowdon is missing as he is dealing with a sore groin.
Clark is expected to be back for the home match against Crewe Alexandra, and Snowdon is expected to be "back soon"; however, Town are likely to have to continue to play James Ball and James Debayo out of position at right-back.
Holloway said last week that he believed the lack of a natural right-back had been a major reason for the team's attacking difficulties, with neither Ball nor Debayo especially comfortable overlapping and putting crosses in.
Speaking ahead of the 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley, Holloway said: "Full-backs, where are they? I haven't got one. Who crosses the balls for me?
"Dan Butterworth isn't fit enough yet. You could see the quality he had the other day with his pass, but we need him up and running because[Joseph] Hungbo's the other winger, and he hasn't played since December.
"We're not doubling up in wide areas. We're going to work on it, and I am not blaming anyone."
After the Accrington game, Holloway also provided an update on Ryan Tafazolli, who, it has been discovered, has broken his toe and will be having an MRI scan.
Holloway previously said he could be out for "weeks or months", and a broken toe is likely to take between four and six weeks to heal completely.
