DANNY Wilson insists Anthony McNamee is “going nowhere” after reports that Norwich are set to renew their interest in the winger.

The Canaries tried to tempt McNamee from the County Ground with a transfer deadline day bid which was rejected immediately by Swindon chiefs.

With the emergency loan window now open, rumours persist that Norwich boss Paul Lambert will come back in for the 26-year-old, pictured, but Wilson was quick to rubbish talk of one of his prized assets moving on.

“Macca’s going nowhere,” Town’s manager told the Advertiser. “If we wanted him to go he would have gone already, so that answers everything. He’s going nowhere at all.

“Unless Norwich come in with a bid which we feel is equivalent to our evaluation of Macca, then he certainly won’t be going to Norwich.”

Meanwhile, Wilson has opened negotiations with Bolton Wanderers about extending the loan deal of striker Tope Obadeyi.

The 20-year-old joined Swindon on an initial month’s loan, which expires next week, but is expected to be off to the Under 20 World Cup in Egypt imminently as part of England’s squad.

Town are currently trying to find a way around using up any more of their permitted temporary signings by bringing the youngster back to the County Ground after international duty.

“I’ve spoken with Gary Megson and he’s quite happy for Tope to come back, but it depends how this tournament falls as to whether he gets in it and how we fit around the extra month in which he’s coming back,” explained Wilson.

“The only problem is that there will be a break in the loan. We wanted a continuous one because otherwise it means it’s another loan and we don’t want to do that. With a continuous one, although it chews up some days it might be beneficial in the long term for us.”

n TOWN youth team player Billy Bodin has been called up to the Wales Under 19 squad for two warm-up games against Malta.

The forward will link up with his international teammates next Friday (September 18) in preparation for the away matches on September 22 and 24.
